No Left Turn in Education invites you to hear experts discuss the issues, concerns, and solutions to the problems we face in education today. "The task of the modern educator is not to cut down jungles, but to irrigate deserts."-C.S. Lewis Are we "irrigating deserts" or getting lost in the "jungles"? It is no secret that our current education is in trouble. There is some disagreement about the cause of the trouble and the solutions. Our guest speakers will share their expert thoughts and opinions on the issues as well as some real solutions to ensure this incredibly vital element of our society does what it is supposed to do, prepare the next generation of well-educated citizenry. Wilfred Reilly, an Associate Professor of Political Science at Kentucky State University and author, will discuss Critical Race Theory and its harmful implications for students and our society. Dr. Bonnie Snyder, author and educator, will discuss the various forms of indoctrination that have seeped into our k-12 classrooms as well as ways to combat it. Dr. Gary Houchens, professor of educational administration at Western Kentucky University and former public school teacher and administrator, will discuss school choice and the role it plays in solving many of the issues plaguing the education system today. Cecil Blye, president of More Grace Ministries, Inc., pastor of More Grace Ministries Church, and senior principal of More Grace Christian Academy will share his experience with opening and operating a successful private school for k-12 students.
