Description
Creating A Space For the Advancement, Repair, Reform, & Reaccess In The Fields Of Public Administration and Criminal/ Social Justice. Mission When we speak of Justice, we focus on the absolute present resolution. How do we gain justice swiftly? What is next? We have protested, voted and reacted. We believe the events of 2020 provided the opportunity for all people to gain a level of consciousness, thus recognizing the power they carry within that can be impactful wherever and whenever. Thanks to social media we can claim/embrace the opportunity of global impact. This symposium is inspired by the innovative actions of all people who stood against racism and discrimination, fought to survive in a pandemic, discovered new ways of communication and empowering methods to stand and fight for what is right. We want to create a space that increases the belief and the possibility of the people’s ability to innovate progressive ideas of justice that benefits all. In the engagement we will include the common traits of a catalyzed change which is consistency and mutual verbal & nonverbal expression, for example, overcoming the Jim Crow era and the civil rights movement; it all began with people matching, planning and listening to one another's ideas of achievable justice. In this symposium we will focus on the advancement, repair, reform, removal and re-access of justice. Speakers are directed to be specific with their message leaving room for discussion. However, they can choose how creative they may want to be with their speech. The symposium will give Rutgers Newark Community an opportunity to lead the conversation and comprehend more about what it takes to advance their fields of interest to a better and more effective level. Rutgers Newark University through this symposium will become a hub for a progressive interaction to allow people to express their views and learn about crises in their fields with experts and peers. Speakers are Wendy Nicholson Ph.D Candidate Rutgers SPAA Dr. Basil Smikle Jr. Distinguished Lecturer And Director Of The Public Policy Program
