Description
Join friends and neighbors as we hand out holiday cards filled with gifts of love to those in need. Grab your holiday cards and hand written notes, stuffed with vouchers, gift cards, cash, candy , and anything you think would be helpful to those without shelter during these hard times, and join us in the Christmas tradition now revolutionizing the way we view this yuletide season. Merry Christmas from Anonymous is back!!!!! Since 2005 we have given away over 150,000 worth of cash, coffee, food, vouchers, gift cards and more. Above all we provide, most importantly, we are giving out love! Brotherly love! Love from one neighbor to another. In this tradition that agape is to neighbors who live in shelters where there is room and where there is not, whom sleep below us in the subways. Beyond our front steps on the asphalt streets, bundled under cardboard boxes in the rain and snow. Our neighbors who in bathrooms hid in safety and in public parks are to often rounded up removed or worse washed away. These neighbors for whatever the circumstances of their lives, are like you and I trying to live. Some of these neighbors have a hard time finding employment; “Ever tried to get a job without and address?” For reasons of disability, death, displacement, and illness, and now A world wide Pandemic for many; life depends purely on of the generosity and kindness of strangers like you and me. I am privileged in manny ways to serve and know these neighbors through opportunities like St Johns Hospice and the Saturday mornings Soup Bowl at St. Marks Church. Enriched by their truths, I have come to know that the most awful experience one can have when homeless is the the lack of humanity offered time and again. Something most of us take for granted every day. If we think we achieved anything without the help of others we have forgotten to look down and note upon who’s shoulders we stand. The outpouring of support in recent years due to your generosity has made it possible to make a larger impact. Our partnership with GoFundMe in 2017 made it easy to allow you to donate to this worthy cause. Unfortunately the truth of our current national situation has made it impossible to meet the need the expanding homeless community presents alone. Simply we have outgrown the ability to handle all the cards alone. We need YOU boots on thr ground! So we will gather on Christmas Eve, Friday the 24th at 1:00 pm in rittenhouse Sq and make our way through the streets, into the subways, and around the neighborhoods to spread a little love and light to our neighbors. The dignity that monetary gifts provide our neighbors is a gift in and of itself. Thank you for your continued and exemplary support. Yours, David Alexander Jenkins founder Merry Christmas From Anonymous.
