Description

Senator Angus King will present a lecture on “The Art of Politics" live at Meetinghouse Arts in Freeport, Maine Maine Senator Angus King will present a lecture in Freeport on Friday, December 17, 2021, at 7pm. The topic of the lecture will be “The Art of Politics.” The lecture will be presented at Meetinghouse Arts, 40 Main St. in downtown Freeport. All proceeds will benefit the Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport. In January 2013, Angus King was sworn in as Maine’s first Independent United States Senator, filling the same seat once held by storied Maine leaders Edmund Muskie, George Mitchell, Bill Cohen, and Olympia Snowe. A strong believer in the need for greater bipartisan dialogue and relationship building, Senator King is proud to join the long line of thoughtful, independent leaders from the State of Maine, He is a proven consensus-builder on Capitol Hill, who pursues workable solutions from both sides of the aisle -- recently telling “CBS 60 Minutes” his goal is to ‘ring the bell of common sense’ in a nationally-broadcast profile of his legislative philosophy. He works hard every day to bring Republicans and Democrats together to find common-sense solutions for Maine and America. COVID-19 POLICY: The audience is required to wear masks and show proof of complete vaccination. If you cannot verify that you are fully vaccinated, you must provide a time-stamped printout, photo, or email of a negative PCR text taken within 72 hours of the performance or a Rapid Antigen Test taken within 24 hours of the performance. Venue capacity will be reduced to allow for social distancing. The lecture is being presented by a partnership of Arts & Cultural Alliance of Freeport (ACAF), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and Free(port) Speech, a non-profit organization founded to support the transformation and growth of Freeport, Maine, into a center for arts and culture by presenting provocative and inspirational speakers.
