THIS EPISODE Zsaknor R Powe: is a multi-talented stand up comedian/performer hailing from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His use of authentic storytelling, personal experiences, and showmanship allows him to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Zsaknor was raised in the middle class neighborhoods of the still segregated Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where creole culture is still intertwined with the cities racial history. Even with this regional foundation Zsaknor was always interested in the arts, attending visual arts classes since he was four years old, and later enrolling in the New Orleans Center of Creative Arts and graduating with a B.A. at New York University in Film/Television. After college he would go on to perform comedy all across the New York City scene developing his unique brand of surreal personal anecdotes mixed in with social commentary. Since moving to Austin, Texas he has become a regular at The Romo Room and has featured with comics such as Jamar Neighbors and William Montgomery. As of right now he’s in production on his own comedy show with comedian, Dasharae called the Pre Game Comedy show, one of the few all black comedy shows in Austin. LIVE PAINTING BY: DeLoné Osby: is a self taught artist. She uses her work as a way to heal her own traumas, the traumas of her ancestors & recently the people who see her work. Through spiritual practices & ancestral work she incorporates the messages she receives via dreams and meditation into her work. Growing up multi-racial & queer, it was important to her to find her sense of self and where she fit in within her communities. Art has helped her accomplish this. Her work has become an embodiment of herself and the divine in a way that also lets the viewer see divine in themselves.
