Community organizations will present a Housing Resources Fair in Simi Valley on Saturday, Dec. 4, to address the issue of affordable housing and provide information on support services, housing rights, resources and advocacy. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Ave. in Simi Valley.
Among organizations to be represented at booths and with speakers are the Simi Valley Department of Environmental Services Housing Section, Habitat for Humanity, the Housing Rights Center, the Westminster Free Clinic, Central Coast Alliance United for a Sustainable Economy (CAUSE), the Ventura Tenants Union, Ventura County YIMBY and the nonprofit advocacy organization Buen Vecino.
Speakers will include Simi Valley Environmental Services Director Stratis Perros and Darcy Taylor, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Ventura County. The event will offer information on accessing housing resources, overcoming barriers, and addressing the challenges and opportunities for stable, affordable homes for all.
