Learn how to capture stunning photographs of the moon, stars, and star trails. Desert Night Sky PhotographyCapture stunning photographs of the moon, stars, and star trails! Learn how to photograph the Milky Way over a landscape! In this class, you will learn the camera settings for your DSLR camera to capture beautiful night time images, become familiar with the types of compositions to maximize the night sky, and acquire the skills to select the best direction and time of night to photograph stars. We will discuss how to plan a photo shoot with consideration of the north star, Milky Way, moon phase, and moon rise and set times. By the end of the class, you will have experience with planning and completing a night sky photo session. This class will meet in a classroom setting on Thursday, April 21st from 6-9pm. Then the class will have an outdoors night sky photography session on Friday, April 22nd from 7-10pm. All skill levels are welcome to join! Instructor BioShawn and Corinne Severn are travelers and adventurers who spend several months each year hiking and photographing landscapes in the westernmost states. They enjoy vlogging their travel and photography experiences and previously wrote articles for northwest yachting magazines. Join Community Education in your pursuit for knowledge, self-improvement, or personal enrichment. Our program promises to engage you as you interact with others and with the world around you. Based on the interests in our community, we offer a variety of courses in topics such as photography, cooking, computers, languages, gardening, music, and so much more.
