Urgent! Black pitbull type dog running scared down the middle of ajo

On my way down ajo heading west and I see a pair of eyes headed straight for me!!! I slammed on brakes put my bright lights on its a black or dark grey pit bull type dog ears flopping in the breeze! Luckily he veered to the side I flipped a u I turned into the inn- n out burger parking lot to type this. I don't see where dog went.? 1999 east ajo is the address on the chevron next to inn- out hamburger joint. Dog was black or dark Grey. Had a dark colored collar on Dog had a spot of white but I can't be certain where the white was located only that I saw a patch of white somewhere on or by dogs front? I wish I knew where dog went? So worried for dog. The inn- out burger/ chevron on ajo where there's freeway on ramps. Didn't get a picture happened so fast
