Description
Please join the Rotaract Club of Birmingham as we present the 2022 Foundation Ball at Regions Field! The Rotaract Club of Birmingham invites you to join us in celebration of our Club for what is sure to be another unforgettable event! This year, we are partnering with our Rotary Charter and highlighting some of the leaders in the Birmingham community through our theme "Hall of Fame." This black tie event will be open to ticket holders only and is for ages 21 and up. There will be live music, food and drink, raffles, and more! Once again, we have asked Nationwide Coverage to be our headlining band, so you already know the night is a vibe. There is a VIP ticket option for those interested in additional benefits, including exclusive access to our VIP areas at both Regions Field and our After-Party location. All proceeds from the event go to sponsor Rotaract's three main signature service projects: Achieve Alabama, the first free state-wide scholarship database in the country, which was created by the Rotaract Club of Birmingham in collaboration with community partners to provide a readily accessible platform to all Alabama high school students with customized scholarship opportunities attributes and demographics. The database has accumulated over 27,000 scholarships totaling over $11,000,000,000, and over 155,000 Alabama high school students have already registered for the service.Ready2Succeed, a mentorship program designed to provide high-achieving local high school students in the Birmingham City School System with guidance, encouragement, and resources to prepare for the college admissions process, from ACT preparation to college tours, to one-on-one counseling with career and higher education professionals as students navigate the college application process in hopes of attaining higher education degrees. Although the program has only been piloted in one Birmingham high school, the model is scalable, and we hope to continue to expand.Ready2Read, a reading comprehension program that provides a classroom library to second-grade classrooms throughout the Birmingham City School System and promotes literacy, reading comprehension skills, and a love of reading to impressionable and adaptable young minds. Approximately 40 of our members volunteer as reading buddies in these classrooms, and research is underway to further quantify the program’s impact. As always, thank you for your support. Our Club and its Foundation is nothing without our community of sponsors! Rotaract was founded to develop effective leaders and promote responsible citizenship. As our generation plays a growing role in directing the affairs of this community, it is important that our members be well-positioned to accept the challenge of helping Birmingham reach its potential of becoming a world-class city. We believe for those who are led to think boldly can affect real change. Rotaract provides an avenue for members to serve the greater Birmingham community by embracing the Rotarian philosophy of "Service Above Self"
