Bryant shares the vision; discusses top goals for the neighborhoods art + architecture: Detroit Planning Director Discusses Goals for the Neighborhoods Antoine Bryant is the new director of Planning and Development in Detroit, appointed by Mayor Duggan this past summer, and he is here to make things happen. An architect, thought leader, and business development manager from the city of Houston, TX, he has 25 years of experience in the planning of communities, large and small. Mr. Bryant is a recognized authority on urban development, and was selected for this important position in Detroit, following a nationwide search. The City's Master Plan is scheduled to be updated this year, following a regulated procedure that includes the mayor's proposal, and City Council's review and approval. Detroit's Master Plans contain 17 Elements under which the City's long-term goals and policies are organized. These elements range from Arts, Education, Neighborhoods and Housing, to Infrastructure, and they will shape the social, economic and physical development and conservation of the city. Finding creative solutions to the issues facing the neighborhoods is Antoine Bryant's strongest skill set. He has made it one of the cornerstones of his career.
