Press release from the City of Long Beach: November 29, 2021 We are looking for someone "great" to join City officials in lighting the Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree. We want to know who has done great things for our community this year whether it is a neighbor helping a neighbor, a teacher going the extra mile, someone serving in the military or just someone or a group that deserves the recognition. We want to hear about them. All of the names submitted will be imprinted on ornaments to be placed on the Christmas Tree in Kennedy Plaza. The City Council will introduce the nominee(s) to the crowd and together they will officially light the tree on December 3rd at 5:00pm. This is a great opportunity during the holiday season to honor those people who make a difference in our city. Please click here and complete the form and submit it by Thursday, December 2, 2021. Nominees must be a resident of the City of Long Beach. A selection committee will determine the individual(s) who will light the tree from the pool of nominations.
