LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Several crimes were reported around Loudoun County over the Thanksgiving weekend. Notable incidents included a knifepoint robbery and an assault at a store in Sterling, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. The knifepoint robbery was reported to police around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 27. The incident occurred in the 500 block of Lee Court in Sterling, police said. "The teenaged victim reported he left the Herndon area and was walking in the area of East Maple Avenue and Lee Road before 9 p.m. when he was approached by three unknown males," the sheriff's office said in their report. "One of the males displayed a firearm and two others brandished knives." The victim's backpack and cell phone were reported missing, but no injuries were reported. The suspects were described as three Hispanic males in their late teens or early twenties who were wearing dark clothing, according to the sheriff's office. Anyone with more information about the robbery can contact Detective Mitchell at 703-777-1021. On Sunday, a Sterling resident told police that an unknown man knocked on his door. When the resident asked the man to leave, "the male began destroying property including vehicle windows and the mailbox," police said. The resident then followed the suspect to a nearby store, the sheriff's office said. Authorities claimed that the suspect then assaulted the victim. The suspect, who was identified as a 32-year-old Ashburn resident, was charged with two counts of destruction of property, disorderly conduct, and assault. He was initially held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $7,500 bond. In Chantilly, deputies said they recovered a firearm that was previously reported as stolen. On South Riding Boulevard, a deputy made a traffic stop after a vehicle made an unlawful U-turn at a traffic light, according to the police report. Deputies said they located open alcohol containers in the vehicle, and found a firearm on one of the vehicle's three underage occupants. The firearm was reported as stolen in November. Authorities said they are still investigating the incident.
