Do you love plants and animals? Would you rather be outside in the fresh air surrounded by beautiful flowers than sitting in an office on a zoom call? Would you rather be working with your hands than typing with them all day? Do you prefer animals over people? Haha, joking, but I have my days. We are a small specially nursery and soon-to-be cut flower farm looking for a hard-working and trustworthy individual to help care for our animals (chickens, geese, sheep, miniature donkeys, and horses) and assist with the nursery and flower farm. Several of our animals are rescues and all are pets. We use organic practices and strive to be worthy stewards of our beautiful 5 acres. We value natural health and grow many immune supporting medicinal and culinary herbs, along with several unique fruits, vegetables, berries, and perennials. This position will not start until next year, but we are beginning to look now because we are particular about who we hire. This position will likely start as part-time in late winter or early spring and may evolve into a full-time position during peak season. Pay will range from $15-20 per hour depending on experience and skill set. Hours and days are flexible. The position will likely involve, but may not be limited to: -Animal care: feeding, cleaning out barns and coop, picking pasture, giving love and pets -Nursery Plant care: watering, organizing, labeling, propagation, assisting customers with selections -Flower farm: seed sowing, planting, transplants, harvesting, maintenance of beds, bouquet making, stocking farm stand, deliveries -Property maintenance: weeding, mowing, edging, spreading compost/mulch, composting & manure management, small repairs The ideal candidate would have some knowledge of plants and horticultural best practices, experience growing plants, have cared for and be comfortable being around animals, and be ok with getting the occasional splat of manure in the face. A strong work ethic is a must, and you must be organized, caring, honest, and reliable. This will be a physically demanding, all-weather and primarily outdoor position.
