ROUND ROCK, TX — One person was treated for smoke inhalation after a commercial building caught fire in Round Rock over the weekend. Round Rock Fire Department responded to the blaze around 11:33 a.m. Sunday at the GP1 Collision Center located at 2800 Chisholm Trail Road, city officials said Monday. Eight fire crew units arrived to the scene to find smoke pouring out of a large overhead door leading to the shop area, officials said. Live in Round Rock? Fire crews extinguished a van on fire in the shop and were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the inside of the building. The fire was under control at 11:44 a.m. Williamson County EMS treated one person on scene for smoke inhalation; no one was transported to the hospital for injuries. Fire officials said the fire looks to have originated from welding blankets near the van, which caught fire during welding work and spread to the car.
