ANNAPOLIS, MD — An Annapolis grocery store sold a winning lottery ticket worth $786,946 last week. The victor has not yet claimed their prize, and officials are looking for the lucky player. The win came last Wednesday on a $20 ticket bought from Giant Food store No. 194. The grocer, located at 2323 Forest Drive, will get a $1,000 bonus from the lottery for selling a progressive-jackpot ticket worth $100,000 or more. The victory happened on FAST PLAY Hit the Jackpot, which debuted on July 5. The game has an initial $250,000 pool that grows with each ticket purchased until a winner is sold. This was the first grand prize in the new game, which will continue until 14 more jackpots are hit. The Annapolis win was Maryland's largest last week. Other major prizes included a $60,564 Racetrax prize in Laurel and a $50,000 Powerball victory in Silver Spring. Twenty players won or claimed prizes worth $10,000 or more between Nov. 22 and 28. The Maryland Lottery paid more than $25.9 million in winnings to participants around the state.
