ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Chocolate Binge Festival will return to Annapolis this Sunday after the coronavirus pandemic canceled last year's festivities. Thirty businesses will sell sweets from noon to 5 p.m. beneath West Street's holiday light canopy, which will illuminate immediately after the celebration. "This outdoor shopping event has become one of Annapolis' favorite holiday events and everyone is excited to see it return," stated Erik Evans, executive director of the Inner West Street Association. Chocolatiers will have everything from caramel and fudge to cookies and cakes. Attendees will find specialty items that are gluten-free, kosher, non-GMO, organic and vegan. Local vendors include Annapolis Chocolate Bar, Balti'Marons and Blue Crab Cupcakes. A full list of participants is posted here. Artisans will also sell craft goods like jewelry, paintings and photographs. Gallery 57 West will have activities for children. Luna Blu Ristorante Italiano will host a wine and chocolate tasting for an extra fee. Live music from the Priddy Music Academy starts at noon. There will be two stages on West Street, which will be closed to traffic near Church Circle. The Annapolis Fire Department will collect canned food donations at both ends of the festival. Tickets cost $5, and they are available at annapolischocolatebingefestival.com. Kids 12 and under are free. When buying passes, guests will have the option to buy a $10 raffle ticket to enter the drawing for a $10,000 grand prize. Proceeds will benefit Dinner Under the Stars, First Sunday Arts Festivals and public art exhibits. Free parking will be available all day in the Calvert Street Garage at 19 St. Johns Street. Whitmore Garage, located at 25 Clay Street, will be free until 4 p.m. or $2 for the full day. Other paid garages include the Gott's Court, Knighton and Park Place locations. The complimentary Annapolis Circulator bus will run from Park Place to the festival. Masks are optional at the event but mandatory on the bus. Click here for more information.
