Giving Tuesday is the perfect day to give to nonprofit organizations! We have so many members that give back to Greater Arlington and we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity and donate what you can to some of these organizations. Whether you have money that you can donate or have time to spare for volunteering, these organizations would love to see you uplifting their causes so that they can uplift the communities that they have promised to care for. Arlington Life Shelter The mission of Arlington Life Shelter is to promote self-sufficiency by providing shelter, employment programs and transitional services for North Texans impacted by homelessness. Arlington Urban Ministries Arlington Urban Ministries' mission is to provide rent, utility assistance, and food support to families and individuals in urgent need. While their primary goal remains to meet the most basic needs of people in crisis, over the years, they have expanded their programs to support families during the crucial transition from crisis to stability. Arlington Charities, Inc. Arlington Charities' mission is to lead and engage our community in the fight against hunger and poverty. Arlington Charities' vision is to meet the immediate, basic needs of those in our community, partner with other community agencies & organizations to advance their mission and proactively seek new resources and tools to serve those in need. Child Care Associates Child Care Associates' mission is to invest in the future of children, families, and communities. They provide high-quality early learning experiences to young children like Head Start programs. They also deliver childcare financial assistance and other vital resources to parents and offer professional development opportunities to educators. You can also find out how to volunteer here. Alliance For Children Alliance for Children is the only Tarrant County nonprofit organization involved directly in the protection from child abuse through coordinated and teamed investigations with local law enforcement agencies, Cook Children's Medical Center, JPS Health Network, Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office, Tarrant County Juvenile Services and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is the largest Boys & Girls Club in the state of Texas, providing a range of high-impact special programs and services. They provide services to over 36,000 youth a year, with ages ranging from six to 24. Over the last 18 months, they remained a pillar of consistency in the lives of the youth that they serve. They've successfully met the major needs of the community by providing critical resources and support to families across Tarrant County. They promise to continue to do whatever it takes to build great futures for our kids. C5 Youth Foundation of Texas The mission of the C5 Youth Foundation of Texas is to change the odds for high potential youth…inspiring them to pursue personal success and preparing them for leadership roles in college, work, and their communities. They do this by engaging middle and high school students from under resourced communities in five years of intensive leadership experiences including year-round leadership development programs, signature summer activities, community action, and preparation for continuing education and career development. Awesome on The Spectrum Awesome on The Spectrum believes that teaching life skills gives autistic people the essential tools needed to navigate the world around them. Promoting independence enables individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder to learn to advocate for themselves. Building confidence in people with different abilities helps them to live their best lives. Awesome on the Spectrum, Inc. works to educate the community about the many elements of autism and how the inclusion of autistic people in all aspects of life betters society as a whole. United Way of Tarrant County As a nonprofit leader, United Way brings together individuals, groups, donors, and service providers to help solve some of the toughest social issues affecting Tarrant County. Each year, United Way of Tarrant County helps more than 300,000 people through its resources. United Way of Tarrant County has no fees on donor designations, with 100 percent of the donation going to the selected agency or cause. H.I.M Center H.I.M. Center is a nonprofit agency as designated by the IRS: section 501(c)3. They rely on the generous contributions of faithful friends, local businesses, and corporate donors who share their vision of feeding the hungry. Currently, they serve over 50,000 individuals across North Texas through the Bagged Groceries program, Healthy Families program, Partner Pantry program, and Disaster Relief program. However, it does not stop there. They also participate in the National Angel Food program, Vitamin Relief USA program and are actively involved in spreading the word about the importance of recycling and going green. Advocates For Special People Advocates For Special People's mission is to improve the quality of life of intellectually disabled adults and their families by providing programs for socialization, recreation, and habilitation. The vision for this nonprofit is to enrich the lives of intellectually disabled adults. Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep is a Catholic learning community that educates young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service. Through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, integrated with a relevant work study experience, students graduate ready to succeed in college and in life. HDNP International HDNP International's mission is to feed homeless people, give stationary items to foster children, work with other local organizations, raise awareness in all communities of the world and provide a platform for younger generations to be leaders. InspirED For over 16 years, InspirED has provided free presentations and workshops to schools and community organizations throughout North Texas reaching tens of thousands of students and families. They currently offer two main presentations. The InspirED College Prep presentation is designed to encourage students and families to be college ready and to provide detailed guidance on such things as admissions, testing, scholarships and the intricacies of applying for financial aid. The InspirED FAFSA Prep presentation and workshop were created to assist students and parents with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Center for Transforming Lives By providing comprehensive housing, early childhood education, economic mobility, and clinical counseling services, Center for Transforming lives is able to address families' most critical needs and support mothers in creating long-term sustainability for their families. ShareFest – Texas, Inc. ShareFest is a nonprofit organization that serves those who are underserved. Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains Girl Scouts bring their dreams to life and work together to build a better world. Through programs from coast to coast, Girl Scouts of all backgrounds and abilities can be unapologetically themselves as they discover their strengths and rise to meet new challenges—whether they want to climb to the top of a tree or the top of their class, lace up their boots for a hike or advocate for climate justice, or make their first best friends. Backed by trusted adult volunteers, mentors, and millions of alums, Girl Scouts lead the way as they find their voices and make changes that affect the issues most important to them. From music concerts to humanitarian aid projects, they've mobilized over 60 organizations to work collaboratively to provide tangible needs and empowerment to over 7,800 people across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Their values include authenticity, integrity, creativity, diversity, unity, and excellence. Housing Channel Housing Channel is a certified 501(c)(3) housing nonprofit organization with Community Housing Development Organization status to address critical revitalization needs in targeted areas of the city and county. The mission of Housing Channel is to revitalize distressed neighborhoods and to increase the amount of quality, affordable housing available to low- and moderate-income families and individuals with special housing needs. Levitt Pavilion Arlington The Levitt's mission is to provide free, culturally diverse music that can be enjoyed by everyone while building community through music. They will achieve this through their music, programs, partnerships, and outreach. The Levitt Pavilion gives our community an accessible gathering place for free music open to everyone – all ages, all ethnicities, all neighborhoods and all income levels. SafeHaven of Tarrant County SafeHaven works to end domestic violence in a two-fold manner: keep victims safe and hold offenders accountable. They are here to take care of the most vulnerable, to keep them safe and serve them wherever they are on their journey through domestic violence. As part of their lifelong mission, they also feel an obligation to bring change across the board—change how power is distributed in relationships, change where blame lies, and change how the system responds. Sam Houston Alumni Sam Houston High School Alumni Association's purpose is to provide support to the students, faculty, staff, and administration of Sam Houston High School in order to promote success, spirit, and pride and improve student educational outcomes. River Legacy Foundation River Legacy Foundation's key initiative is to educate the next generation of environmental stewards using the resources of River Legacy Park and River Legacy Living Science Center. Starting with children as young as 3 years old, their environmental education programs expose children to the wonders of nature and their place in it. Through education, they preserve the Trinity River and its unique eco-system. Cancer Care Services Cancer Care Services' actively seek to promote access, equity, and inclusiveness, and to discourage discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, or other factors which deny the humanity of all people. Cancer Care Services' policies reflect the principle that organizational performance is greatly enhanced when people with different backgrounds and perspectives are engaged in an organization's activities and decision-making process. Alzheimer's Association The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. They also advocate for the needs and rights of those facing Alzheimer's and all other dementia. AISD Education Foundation Arlington ISD Education Foundation's mission is to empower student success by providing resources for enhanced innovative and creative learning opportunities. This is translated into programs that encourage health, education, career readiness, and independence. Through advocating for girls and their futures, they reduce barriers in their lives that stem from violence, poverty, and inequity that they encounter at home, at school, in relationships, online, or in their community. Their unique combination of life-changing mentoring relationships, a pro-girl culture, and research-based programming equip girls to be healthy, educated, and empowered. Prison to Purpose Prison to Purpose's mission is to be a support system for individuals in transition from prison, back into society and into their new purpose. Prison to Purpose is a faith-based organization seeking to teach, guide, and mentor participants into a healthier lifestyle by offering personal and professional enrichment courses. Oku Cultural and Development Association USA OCDA-U.S.A is a nonprofit organization that fosters human rights, education, and health along the tribal people of Oku in the northwest region of Cameroon. This association is organized to bring together all the sons and daughters of Oku and their well-wishers in the United States to promote the social, cultural, economic, and educational development of Oku. Catholic Charities of Fort Worth Catholic Charities of Fort Worth's mission is to provide service to those in need, to advocate compassion and justice in the structures of society, and to call all people of good will to do the same. Throughout their 111 years, they have remained in-tune with the needs of the community and have continually evolved to answer those needs. What began as a small group of dedicated women doing whatever they could to help families survive has become an organization that empowers families to thrive. Airpower Foundation The mission of the AirPower Foundation has grown since its formation in 1999, and is now providing funding to nationwide programs dedicated to supporting active duty, reserve and National Guard families. AirPower also supports projects to assist wounded, ill or injured service members, children of our fallen military, veterans of previous wars and educational projects to make sure the next generation understands the honor and sacrifice of wearing the cloth of this country. YMCA The Y is a cause-driven organization that is for youth development, for healthy living and for social responsibility. Metro Sports Fieldhouse Metro Sports Fieldhouse is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) that uses sports as a vehicle to promote disease and illness prevention through healthy active living, encourages key life skill development, and exposes our youth to new educational focus areas including but not limited to STEM, science & technology, arts and culture, and financial literacy programs. Metro Sports Fieldhouse executes their mission through various programs and outreach opportunities throughout the year for kids in the communities that they serve.
