Description

Press release from the City of Johnston: November 30, 2021 Mayor Paula Dierenfeld is at it again for the eighth year in a row! She has yet again issued a challenge to Johnston residents this holiday season. The Mayor will run one mile (beginning on New Year's Eve) for every bag of food, personal items, or $10 donated to the Johnston Partnership Food Pantry between December 1 and 30. Her goal is to reach 1,125 miles. Over the years of running for food, contributions have totaled nearly $39,000.  The need for donations within our community remains high. Donations can be dropped off at Johnston City Hall or the Johnston Partnership. Suggested Donation Items:  Personal Items - Toilet paper, laundry detergent, Kleenex, deodorant, shampoo, and diapers Monetary donations are always welcome, as the food pantry can purchase needed items in bulk and cheaper than the rest of the public can buy the same things. Your dollar is stretched further when given to the Johnston Partnership. Monetary donations can also be made online by visiting www.johnstonpartnership.org. Please be sure to add a note "Mayor's Run for Food," so your donations count towards her miles.  This press release was produced by the City of Johnston.
