SANTA MONICA, CA — An exhibition opening in Santa Monica on Wednesday promises a new and intimate look at the life of Diana, Princess of Wales. Born Diana Spencer, the former wife of Prince Charles of England and mother of William and Harry captivated people across the globe from her late teens until her tragic death in 1997, at the age of 36. The "Princess Diana: Accredited Access Exhibition" touts itself as "the world's first-ever walk-through documentary experience." The exhibit features art installations as well as 8-foot-tall photo prints of key moments in Diana's life. From the official website: "Enter a stunning visual journey paired with exclusive, never-heard-before stories that trace Diana's emotional path as she modernizes Motherhood, revolutionizes Fashion, and shows the world how to be Human." The experience includes an audio guide narrated by Anwar Hussein, who has photographed the Royal Family since the 1960s and took many photographs of Diana during her life. Hussein's sons Samir and Zak also became royal photographers. Accredited Access will be at Santa Monica Place (315 Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica CA 90401) from Dec. 1 - Jan. 8 according to the official website. The exhibit is closed Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday it is open from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, it is open from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Time slots are available every 15 minutes. Guests navigate themselves through the exhibit, which takes between 60 and 90 minutes. Adult tickets start at $25. All ages are welcome.
