Here are the top stories today in Des Moines: The Des Moines Police Department is looking to identify a suspect in a violent assault. A woman was reportedly assaulted at a bar in the 400 block of E. Walnut Street on Nov. 4 and suffered significant injuries in the attack. Police released photos of the suspect on social media Monday, asking the public to note a distinctive tattoo on the upper left arm. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Wilson at 515-237-1502. (KCCI Des Moines) A man is in custody after ramming a patrol car and leading officers on a short chase in south Des Moines. According to authorities, a Polk County Conservation Ranger attempted to pull over a red pickup truck in Easter Lake Park on Monday afternoon and called Des Moines Police for backup when the driver refused to stop. The driver rammed a patrol car before officers ran him off the road on E. Pine Avenue and arrested him. Animal control removed one large dog and a litter of small puppies from the vehicle. Schettler, a former West Des Moines insurance agent, was arrested and charged with one count of insurance fraud by the Polk County Sheriff's Office after an investigation by the Iowa Insurance Division's Fraud Bureau.
