Description

Press release from the City of Peoria: November 29, 2021 The final week to have your yard waste picked up is the week of December 6-10. Yard waste is collected on your scheduled pick-up day. Yard waste materials include grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs, and brush. Limbs and sticks can be bundled with nonmetallic cord, such as twine, but must be less than five feet in length and weigh less than 50 pounds. For unbundled materials, residents are encouraged to use their own containers. Yard waste is hard on the carts. Only using the City of Peoria's carts for recycling and garbage and a separate container for yard waste helps to prolong the life of the City's carts. Use plastic or metal garbage cans between 40 and 45 gallons in size, with two handles, and a tight-fitting lid. Wheeled carts that are either 65 or 95 gallons in size are also acceptable. Please be sure to label cans or carts with "Yard Waste Only" stickers available at City Hall, Public Works, or any Peoria Disposal Company location. Yard waste collection will resume in March 2022.
