Description
ANZA, CA — A motorcyclist was seriously injured Tuesday in a crash on Highway 371 east of Anza, requiring him to be airlifted to a hospital.
The motorcyclist, whose identity was not disclosed, went down near the turn-out to Burnt Valley Road at about 9:45 a.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said the victim was hurled onto the highway, but no other details were available.
Paramedics established a makeshift landing zone near the crash site, and a REACH Air helicopter crew was sent to retrieve the rider.
He was picked up before 11 a.m. and flown to a trauma center for treatment of major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which did not require closing the highway.
