Here are the top stories in Atlanta today: Atlanta voters are heading to the polls today to cast ballots in runoff elections for the city's next mayor as well as several other races, including City Council president. (Free: Atlanta Patch; Subscription: Atlanta Journal Constitution)Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is continuing its Atlanta-Johannesburg flights, despite the fact the U.S. has imposed new restrictions on travel from southern African countries because of concerns about a new COVID-19 variant. Travelers are being advised by the U.S. State Department not to visit South Africa or other countries with travel restrictions. Anyone with Delta bookings for flights through Dec. 31 can change their plans without paying a change fee, according to the airline, which said it "will continue to work closely with our government partners to monitor the new COVID-19 variant and any travel restrictions." The man was taken to a hospital after being hit outside the North Avenue station on the corner of West Peachtree Street, according to a MARTA official. His injuries and condition have not been disclosed. No one on the bus was injured, said MARTA spokeswoman Stephany Fisher. Lanes on North Avenue were temporarily closed while authorities investigated.
