Solid bass player looking again

Description

60 year old bass guitarist looking for the right people. I have great gear, I can play, I dress nice, I’m always early and I’ll help. I own a Toyota so I have reliable transportation, working on my passport. I do practice daily because I enjoy playing the bass guitar and I always want to get better. There is nothing else I would rather do. I retired early just to play bass guitar. I’m definitely not in it for the money, but I’m not in it to lose money. Do not expect me to attend a practice 50 weeks a year for a dozen gigs. I practice at home, the only reason for a “band practice” is to learn how you want to start, how you want to end and if there is a solo or multiple solos, how you want to do that. I can sing lead or backups, but I know the limits of my voice and truthfully I would rather not sing. I prefer sets that are arranged as a show and I don’t like showing up to a gig and getting handed a different set list then the one we agreed on. Why? Because I practice the sets like you wrote them down. I am ready for the next song 1 second after we end a song. Every time you ask if I am ready I will just laugh and say always. I won’t tolerate egos or assholes. At this level, there is simply no room for that crap. A band should be fun, music, should be enjoyed by the players and the audience. Now that the crap is out of the way, I have been lucky. I played with one band for 5 years, another one for a decade in this century. I’m looking for another long term band. Until then, I’ll do fill ins, so if you know you are going to need a bass player in 4 weeks or even in July use me. If you haven’t been able to find a bass player for a few months and you are ready to gig, use me till you find that perfect being. Do I expect to find anything here on craigslist, extremely doubtful especially at this time of the year but the band I played with for over a decade found me on here so I still post on here. Music wise, I prefer dance music. Dancers follow a band, Clubs like that. Music can be any Rock and Roll, Country Western, Oldies, Swing, Ska, ect just not Columbus Blues. I lived in Texas for a few years and I visit Chicago yearly. so I know what great blues should be. I have always been amazed at how lame the blues scene is here. Working bands or start up bands are fine with me. I just like to play. Don’t care about age, or where you grew up or been, I just enjoy playing. I do have a surgery coming up sometime in January or February. That will shut me down for 1 or 2 weeks (20 lb weight limit) I can still play, just not suppose to move my bass cabinet. Send me an email and we can swap phone numbers and talk, jam or meet somewhere.
