I am a pro drummer with many years of experience. I am thinking of starting something like a keyboard trio or guitar trio, maybe quartet. It can be a small group. We groove, we funk, we improvise, we call stuff on the fly, we play some standard funk stuff, we play jazz standards in funk feels, we jam, etc. Nothing that would require tons of rehearsals. Basically getting good players to show up at a gig and be able to just make it work musically. I think it would be fun also. I also think there's a need for it up here. People would totally dig it because they like to dance and will dance to anything LITERALLY. This would at least to conducive to dancing. and no one is really doing it. Add a guitartist? Sure that would be great too. But we can start small. This would be a fun sounding band, uplifting, happy, party vibe. I've seen this work very nicely in my travels. People do dig it and respond. And it's also fun for musicians to be loose (not a ton of structure), creative, and lock as a unit. I welcome all feedback, thoughts, interest, whatever. Thanks!
