Columbus Gives Back invites you to join us at the YMCA Van Buren Center to serve dinner for the residents. Columbus Gives Back invites you to join us at the YMCA Van Buren Center to serve dinner for the residents. Not only does the center serve as a shelter for the homeless, but it offers housing and employment assistance, Southeast, Inc. treats medical and behavioral health as a federally qualified health center, and Freedom a la Cart feeds three meals a day, seven days a week. What: We will be prepping and serving dinner and cleaning  up afterwards! Training Video: Before our volunteering, please watch this safety training video. When: Wednesday, December 23rd 5pm - 7pm Where: Van Buren Center, 595 Van Buren Dr. Columbus, OH 43223 Event Leader(s): [email protected] COVID-19 Precautions: Due to the current stay-at-home advisory in place in Franklin county, Columbus Gives Back is limiting the number/type of events on our calendar through the end of the year. All Columbus Gives Back volunteers are required to wear face masks and observe social distancing as appropriate to complete volunteer tasks. Volunteers who are sick, especially with fever or the growing number of Covid-19 symptoms, should stay home. We highly recommend that our volunteers wash their hands, use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of the event, and/or wear gloves. We will follow whatever safety policy our nonprofit partners have in addition to the safety precautions listed above. Any volunteers determined to neglect these precautions and put other volunteers or the people we serve at risk will be dismissed from the event. In an effort to keep our volunteers, event leaders, and non-profit partners safe we ask that each volunteer or event leader sign up for no more than one event in a seven-day period, in order to limit the number of individuals you come into contact with if you are exposed to Covid-19. If you were exposed before or test positive after having participated in a CGB event, please contact the event leader or reach out to [email protected] so that we can best support contact tracing efforts. The YMCA provides a safe and healthy environment and assists individuals while they are resolving their housing crisis. About Columbus Gives Back: We love Columbus, young professionals, and getting involved! Our mission is to connect young professionals across central Ohio and engage them in our communities through 35-40 social volunteer and philanthropic opportunities per month. #SocialTwist: Social Twists have been suspended until further notice, but typically we will also encourage volunteers to join us afterwards for food and drinks to better get to know the other cool folks in our group! Rather we encourage each of our volunteers to support local business during this time.
