Employment Lawyer Needed - Long Shot

Description
Hello, I'm looking for advice or a lawyer to help me figure out if I have any recourse in a legal matter regarding an at-will contract. There was a staffing agency between myself and the client who I believe messed up the contract in some way, perhaps unintentionally. So here's the full story: A staffing agency notified me about this remote, 6-month contract position back in September. They got me an interview on October 1st with the client. Before the interview they sent me some prep material, and I noticed one piece of material said the interview was not the time to negotiate the wage. So at that point, I thought the wage wasn't set in stone. After the interview, the staffing agency asked me if I would accept the position if I was offered. I said I would, if the wage was closer to a couple more dollars per hour. The staffing agency expressed regret, saying that I may have misunderstood that the wage was already submitted. At that point, the staffing agency said that in order to expedite the process and get me hired, that they would "take the hit" and give me the couple more dollars per hour. I said they didn't have to do that and expressed my gratitude. A few weeks go by, as I'm passing up other opportunities and filling out paperwork, before I start the position. On the 7th day of my contract, the staffing agency called me to tell me that my contract had been terminated by the client without notice. As you can imagine, I was taken aback. They could not provide a reason, as the client did not provide one. The staffing agency then paid lip service to tell me that they would look out for other positions for me. Since then I had one phone conversation with the staffing agency where they still couldn't provide a reason. My only guess is that the staffing agency somehow may have done something to the contract which the client did not agree with, albeit through negligence and incompetence, and are avoiding me. Their silence makes me suspicious. Please let me know if you have any advice, if you know a lawyer, or are a lawyer who can help me navigate this, since I do believe that the staffing agency is liable. I just don't know if they are legally liable for messing up the contract. They got me the contract, but then they could've botched it. I guess my primary question is, how can employers terminate a contract without providing a reason? Isn't this a loophole for discrimination? I don't think this is a discriminatory case, but still. Thank you for reading and any help you can provide.
