Machine Shop Assistant position available in Glendale, CA, 91201 • Position Summary: Under the general supervision of the Tool Crib and Maintenance Lead, perform general machine and building maintenance to the standards of the company. • Check and maintain all machine fluid levels, including coolant and oil levels to ensure proper machine functioning. • Organize and inventory all machine lubrication oils. • Clean and maintain coolant sumps. • Collect chips, drain coolant, and any other production waste materials from machines and dispose of in trash. • Update scheduled maintenance logs for dust collection system, machines, etc. • Maintain and clean dust collection system. • Maintain and clean employee and visitor parking areas. • Maintain and clean compressor sheds. • Perform general building maintenance (interior and exterior) including minor plumbing work, minor paint work, minor electrical work and minor construction work. • Clean rain gutters. • Use Company vehicle to run maintenance-related errands, such as going to the store and purchasing tools or supplies needed to complete a work assignment. • Perform other duties as required. • 2-3 years general maintenance with some minor general repairs experience. • Experience operating a forklift is strongly preferred. • Forklift certification must be completed within 3 months of hire. • Valid driver’s license with good driving record. • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently is essential. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
