The Rural Family Voice Project is coming to YOUR community. The Rural Family Voice project is an opportunity for you to share your thoughts on family engagement and academic achievement in your county. This project is collecting information across the state and will use it to help enhance family engagement in WV. Participants will receive a $50 Wal-Mart gift card and a $10 gas voucher for their participation in this event. A meal will be provided. More about the project... The Rural Family Voice project elevates both the voices and lived experiences of students and families to inform schools of challenges and opportunities related to family engagement. In addition, the project builds a context for the importance of family engagement within rural communities in West Virginia. This information will help to support improved learning outcomes, along with opportunities for enhanced trust, transparency, and communication—amplifying the often unheard rural voices in family engagement. The SEAMless approach to this project will support children’s learning and development; encourage positive self-image and a “can do” spirit; advocate for improved learning opportunities; and model lifelong learning and enthusiasm for education.
