He has held various positions in the mortgage industry for over 40 years. These include production, operations, sales, and marketing positions with lenders across the country. Over the last four decades Mr. Clem has seen it all. From 16% interest rates in the 70’s, to the Savings and Loan crisis in the late 80’s, to the recession of 2008 and the aftermath of the housing crisis he has advised lenders on how to navigate these challenges and come out winners. Challenges 2022… We Have Been Here Before! COVID, increased housing prices, material shortages, and rising interest rates have set the stage for a roller coaster as we move into the new year. Mr. Clem will present a housing and economic forecast from First Community Bank on what challenges lay ahea. Understanding the challenges will set the stage on creating a strategy that will lead to success in 2022. After laying out the challenges Mr. Clem will lead a discussion on how the industry can react and set the stage for a successful year. With over forty years in the mortgage and real estate business he continues to stress that this is nothing new and we already have proven tools to be successful despite the challenges ahead.
