The Rutland 300th Anniversary Committee is thrilled to bring the NEW ENGLAND SWING ORCHESTRA back to Rutland for a special holiday event!
The New England Swing Orchestra was formed in 1985, initially finding success performing for Massachusetts Cultural Concerts and formal dances at colleges as well as senior events. The group became even more popular during the Swing revival of the 1990's, and performed at many weddings and other events. Starting in 2002, the Orchestra backed legendary New Orleans saxophonist Charles Neville, performing his arrangements in hundreds of appearances throughout Massachusetts, until 2016.
The NESO has performed in over half of all Massachusetts cities and towns, including at Rutland's 4th of July. The Rutland 300th Anniversary Committee, along with our host facility the Rutland Sportsmens Club and with the generous sponsorship of the Rutland Cultural Council, are thrilled to bring them back to Rutland for this intimate sneak-peek holiday concert in advance of our big year!
