Our annual Human Rights Day Celebration scheduled for Friday, December 10th from 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM.  THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT. The 2021 Theme: EQUALITY - Reducing Inequalities, Advancing Human Rights relates to 'Equality' and Article 1 of the UDHR – “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” The principles of equality and non-discrimination are at the heart of human rights. Now more than ever, we must address and find solutions for deep-rooted forms of discrimination that have affected the most vulnerable people in societies, including women and girls, indigenous peoples, people of African descent, LGBTI people, migrants and people with disabilities, among others. Traditional and unique performances and presentations by local students and community members will be live and via zoom and will encourage us to come together as a community.  It is always an inspirational day of celebration.  JOIN US and INVITE YOUR FRIENDS and let us Share Peace Together! Human Rights Education Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting human rights for all citizens in our community through our efforts to strengthen the voices of those who otherwise may not have a strong voice, by promoting human dignity, and by encouraging a more just society. We provide cultural and historical educational opportunities for all age groups that promote embracing our differences. We teach that diversity is something we should value and not fear through exhibits, speakers, and educational programming. We also provide curriculum for teachers in our community that can be integrated into their daily classwork that promote dignity, compassion, and inclusion for all.
