Shawn Collins for U.S. Congress, California 45th District It's not everyday we can impact the national political landscape. The Texas Blockchain Council is here to advance blockchain technology within Texas. In order to do that we need to have a national reach. We are excited to have Shawn Collins stop by for a meet & greet. In this intimate setting you will be able to discuss blockchain on a political level. Shawn Collins was born and raised in Dallas, and despite growing up in challenging circumstances he was able to leverage his academic and athletic prowess to put himself through undergrad at Rice University, and law school at the University of Texas at Austin Law School. Shawn then felt called to serve his country in the Navy JAG Corps. During his service, Shawn volunteered to go to Afghanistan, where he was on the front lines and survived two suicide assassination attempts. He still serves as an active reservist and is now one of the top lawyers in Orange County. Shawn is living the American Dream and is the best choice for California’s 45th district. He’s seen firsthand the struggles that everyday Americans face, and he knows what it means to have to fight for everything you have because he’s spent his life doing just that. Now, he wants to take that same spirit to the halls of Congress and fight just as hard for us. Blockchain Connection: "Some of the key pillars of my campaign are education and entrepreneurship. Without opportunities for our children to learn topics such as Science, Engineering, Technology, and Financial Literacy, your average kid will be left behind. I was fortunate enough that my parents understood this and would work long hours to afford to send me to Catholic school. Education changed the trajectory of my life. Entrepreneurship is what built our nation and what continues to push us forward. In Congress, I vow to ensure our country remains friendly to business and entrepreneurship. Blockchain is exemplary of the importance of these two issues. As we see this technology advance our government must be willing to adapt. Without changes and removal of burdensome regulations the United States will fall behind on the global stage. And it is my mission to ensure that does not happen."
