Band Beyond Description Crazy Horse Presents 21+ Band Beyond Description taps into the magic of the Grateful Dead experience in that cosmic terrain where music and vibe converge. It’s 2021’s final edition of the Third Thursday tradition and we will not go gently into that good night. This is BBD’s version of the Phil Lesh Quintet. We’re referring to that perfect assembly of five elements that work in cosmic harmony. In case you don’t know, the Band Beyond powder keg is always sparked by Jonny Mojo on guitar and Gary Campus on drums. They invite the best musicians from around the region to join them on journeys to the far reaches of the Grateful Dead songbook. On this occasion they welcome back Bruce MacMillan on guitar and Jonathan Stoyanoff on bass. Both are known for their work with Joe Craven and the Sometimers. Previous gigs with these two guests have been extra fun and adventurous. Bruce brings a rootsy, psychedelic cowboy vibe with searing guitar and heartfelt vocals. Jonathan is a master of the jazz-funk bass who presents a fresh interpretation of this well-traveled material. He injects everything with an extra bouncy groove and has the “bass face” to match. Who is the fifth member of this quintet you wonder? Tim “Mighty” High of course who lives to sing and does so with unbridled passion. When Tim is on the mic, you know every song is going to be brought to its full, emotional fruition.
