Join us in celebrating!
In January the Bike Library purchased a 7,000 square foot building for $399,000. Our small and mighty staff have orchestrated programs all year that engaged nearly 100 volunteers who logged 4,200 hours in 2021. Bike Librarian volunteers have been busy moving, building, constructing, refurbishing bikes, and serving the Johnson County residents out of our new forever home.
Hundreds of community members donated bicycles and we cycle them back into the community. This year we refurbished 718 quality refurbished bicycles!!!
Join us in celebrating our new forever home, and our volunteers, donors, and supporter commitment to sustainable transportation!
If you would like to make a donation to the Bike Library this year, consider bringing a checkbook to the soirée and avoid paying additional fees!
The Bike Library started in 2004 as a volunteer-run community bike project located in Iowa City, Iowa with a mission of getting more people on bikes. We repair donated bikes and offer them to the public. Bikes are priced with a deposit and checked out for six month periods. If a bike is returned in good condition within the checkout period, the deposit will be returned to the user. Alternately, patrons can choose to keep their bikes and forfeit their deposit.
