WALTHAM, MA — The Waltham Farmers' Market is asking for donations to its SNAP Match Program to help rebuild the program after a difficult year. During this year's 22-week season, WFM distributed over $17,000 to SNAP recipients, with 75 families benefitting from the program each Saturday. "2021 broke the bank!" said WFM in a note to the community Monday. "Not only did we disburse the fully-budgeted amount, but we had to dig into our reserves in order to finish out the season for those in need." "Clearly, there is an ongoing need to provide for those living with food insecurity and that is why we're asking for a helping hand." Donations can be made via PayPal, Credit Card, Debit Card, or donors can mail a check to Waltham Farmers' Market, P.O. Box 541161, Waltham, MA 02454. One hundred percent of each donation goes directly to the SNAP Match Program and is tax-deductible thanks to WFM's sponsor, Waltham Fields Community Farm. To make a donation, click here.
