SALEM, MA — Salem residents eager to check out the new pools, splash pad and accessible trails at the Forest River Park Outdoor Recreation and Nature Center will get that chance during a "free community sneak peek" on Dec. 18. The city is inviting residents and community members to the event from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that will include brief remarks from project team members, an opportunity to tour the new grounds and light refreshments. Improvements include the creation of two new public pools, a renovated bathhouse with a community room, public art installations, a splash pad, new accessible trails and a restored ocean cove area. Updates on the Forest River Park signature park project underway in #SalemMA: •Over the next few weeks the porous and regular paving will occur. Final pave of the road is planned for 11/19, which will affect the use of the entrance near the garage. pic.twitter.com/EGoeiULJaE— BuildingSalem (@BuildingSalem) November 12, 2021 More details on the city's signature parks initiative can be found here.
