NEW YORK CITY — Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo's eyes darted around the room as he waited to testify about several women's sexual harassment accusations against him.
"This is quite the video exercise," he said — the first words in what became a nearly nine hours of testimony on July 17.
Cuomo's testimony — and those of his accusers and numerous other witnesses — formed the backbone of a bombshell report released in August by the state's Attorney General Letitia James and would ultimately lead to his resignation.
But the public didn't see Cuomo's video testimony and several other pieces of evidence marshaled in the case — until Monday.
James released Cuomo's video testimony, as well as that of several women who accused him of harassment, as part of a promised rolling series of disclosures.
The videos allow the public to see and hear what previously released transcripts did not depict — a combative Cuomo tangling with his questioners and denying the accusations.
Cuomo, though he resigned, has continued his denials.
The newly released documents include interview transcripts with key Cuomo aides such as Rich Azzopardi and text exchanges his top aide Melissa DeRosa had with his brother Chris Cuomo, a prominent CNN host, over how to deal with the accusations.
