Description

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A mischievous four-legged friend named Bou is recovering after a risky dog run on I-95 near New Rochelle, thanks to the New York State Police and Thruway Authority workers pulling out all the stops to rescue the frightened canine. Bou was reunited with his family after Trooper George Spiconardi helped to corral the wayward pup. Members of the Thruway Cross Westchester and Larchmont Maintenance Sections and Traffic Safety were instrumental in the rescue, NYSP officials said. Troopers and Thruway Maintenance slowed traffic on I-95, in order to rescue the extraordinarily lucky dog from the especially busy stretch of the New England Thruway. The unlikely holiday story had a few tense moments and caused a bit of unexpected gridlock near the scene, but ultimately had a happy ending. At last report, Bou was being treated for injuries to all four paws. He is expected to make a full recovery in time to celebrate a (hopefully) less exciting new year.
