Since our inception in 2015, Debris Free Oceans has removed over 43,000 lbs of marine debris with over 6,800 volunteers, and has also educated over 10,000 students about the sources, impacts, and solutions to plastic pollution. We have hosted more than 200 zero-waste events designed to promote positive behavior change engaging more than 12,000 people. We also provide comprehensive sustainability consulting services to local businesses, and the group has eliminated 1.2 million+ single-use plastics from the waste stream by working with leading establishments and local governments, including the City of Miami Beach, The Rusty Pelican, The Wynwood Yard, Whiskey Joes, Under the Mango Tree, and Treehouse Miami.
