Here are the top stories today in Merrick: Maureen Mullarkey reports that police are looking for the operator of a boat who was seen leaving Fox Island in the Great South Bay off Lindenhurst after an unknown device detonated.The blast happened around 11 a.m. Sunday; and the boat has stripes. At 1:15 p.m. on Sunday on the Southern State Parkway near exit 22 in Hempstead a vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole.
