MARLBOROUGH, MA — A 23-year-old Marlborough man was arrested and charged over the weekend after he pulled a gun on employees at a Worcester bar who refused to let him inside, according to police. The incident happened near 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Funky Murphys bar and restaurant along Shrewsbury Street. Worcester police said Daniel Mercado was trying to get into the bar near closing time. When staff told him he had to leave, he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot them, police said. Worcester police later found Mercado driving along Shrewsbury Street. A gun fell out of his pants while he was being searched, according to police. Police charged Mercado with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of threatening to commit a crime and improper storage of a gun.
