TRUMBULL, CT — A 69-year-old Bridgeport man was killed, and his 62-year-old wife was seriously injured, in a one-vehicle crash in Trumbull Monday afternoon, which resulted in the temporary closure of a portion of Old Town Road while police investigated, according to authorities. The road has since been reopened. The identities of the victims were not disclosed, pending notification of family, but Trumbull police said the man was driving when the crash occurred at about 3 p.m. at the Route 25 highway overpass. "Arriving Trumbull officers located the one-car accident and began rendering medical aid to both of the vehicle occupants," police said in a statement. "Trumbull EMS arrived and assisted with treating the victims before transporting the male victim to Bridgeport Hospital, and the female victim to St. Vincent's Hospital. The woman sustained serious injuries, however the man had died as a result of his injuries." According to police, the vehicle was traveling south on Quarry Road when it drove through the intersection, crossed over Old Town Road, and then struck the bridge.
