ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police announced that more than $15,000 in jewelry was stolen in three break-ins — two at private homes and one at a hotel — in Annapolis. Officers have not made any arrests or named any suspects. Investigators did not mention whether the incidents were connected. The first case opened on Nov. 14 in the 1800 block of Copeland Street. When the victim returned from work, she found her front door damaged and forced open. The woman told authorities that $10,000 worth of jewelry was missing. The next report came on Nov. 15. A visitor said jewelry was stolen from her luggage sometime between Nov. 3 and Nov. 7 while she was a guest at a hotel in the unit block of State Circle. This victim listed her losses as a: Gold necklace with sapphire and other precious jewels: $1,600Gold necklace with a sapphire jewel pendant: $500Set of gold earrings shaped in a triangle: $400Set of gold earrings in the shape of a shield with sapphire jewels: $350 The final theft occurred on Nov. 17 at a home in the unit block of Wardour Drive. The homeowner left the property secured, but he found that it was broken into that afternoon.
