Lost small ground dwelling bird

Our little boy ran away! Look like a feathered egg, fist size. Would be hiding in the bushes, grass, but can fly if spooked. Happened in Palo Alto downtown on 11/27/21. It’s king (aka button) quail male. It's not his first time escaping, that's how we have got him: he ran away and ended up gate crashing someone's apartment. Judging by that they could not find his owners, I guess he can travel far. So he can end up way away from Palo Alto. Let me know if you see him, catch him or have an idea what happened to him. Even if you want to keep him. It's ok. He lost his lady and was a bit lonely with just my big quails for company. Let me know and will tell you how to care for him and give you some food.
