We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to fulfill a position in Tacoma, specifically in the historic Proctor District in the north end. This is a full-time position, Tuesday through Saturday. There is potential for advancement. POSITION SUMMARY The maintenance Technicians will report to the Property Manager/Maintenance Supervisor and will handle all aspects of maintenance for the apartment community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintaining the residential units, grounds, amenities, building exteriors, interiors, breezeways, curbs, leasing office, trash enclosures, parking lot and other building and common areas. This Technician position will be maintenance coverage shared between two new properties that are within one block of each other. The properties are Madison25 and Proctor Station. Several other full time maintenance staff are also located at these assets. Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Completing service requests • Possible monitoring or scheduling of maintenance tasks and vendors • Preparing vacant apartments for new residents • Perform routine and emergency maintenance • Understands and complies with Fair Housing Laws and standards – Training is provided • Taking out and bringing in dumpsters on a weekly routine basis • Some plumbing and electrical skills • Attention to detail and a self-starter • Painting and drywall repair • On Call and Overtime required as needed. This is shared between three technicians QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Experience – Limited experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, appliance repair, painting and drywall is preferred. • Availability – On top of the 5 day work week, technician must be willing to be in an on-call rotation for 24/7 maintenance emergencies. • Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. • Previous experience in maintenance is required. • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation • May be required to help with coverage at sister properties COMPENSATION • Competitive wage. $23.50/hr along with monthly goal oriented bonuses and quarterly bonuses. • Excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, sick, vacation and bonuses The applicant must pass a pre-employment/post offer background check and drug test for illegal narcotics only.
