Description

Hello! I sing, play guitar and bass, and I program drums. Since June, I've been working on recording a large number of songs, and I'm very close to releasing the first record under a new project name. I can do this on my own, but I miss writing and creating with other people...especially when it comes to live performance. I am able to grab an acoustic and play a set, but it honestly bores me to play alone. I like locking in with someone else and really playing the hell out of a song. What am I looking for? I want to find a person (or a few) who can hopefully play a few instruments (decently...good timing and interesting ideas means more to me than musical mastery), sing some harmonies (or leads, if we trade off lead vocals), and who can contribute ideas. An interest in playing out, along with comfort both on stage and when recording, is necessary. I've had better luck working with females than with males in the past, but this is for anyone who feels this ad calls out to them. I'm in my early 40s...sometimes that matters to people. I would love to hear what you do, what you want to do, and some things you've recorded before. This doesn't have to be all about MY songs, to be clear. I have plenty, but I love the idea of adding to someone else's song, too. None of my current recordings are posted anywhere, but I have some (much lower quality) demos and some older live stuff posted here: https://soundcloud.com/gasthefrats The new recordings are coming along wonderfully, and I have enough material already in the works for 3 or 4 records. I plan to start releasing short albums on bandcamp next year, as I've set up a very basic recording setup in my apartment after finally dealing with years of excuses for not doing so earlier. Like I said, though, I prefer doing this with others. I get tired of my own ideas sometimes, and I find that even simple ideas from others can be very inspiring. I honestly don't care a bit about your sexual orientation, race, drug choices, etc. I just like working with honest, inspired people. Say hello! Let's see if we click and maybe chat music over a beer if it seems we're on similar pages. If you need a sound reference of some sort, I would love to be in a band that contains hints of Queens of the Stone Age, TV on the Radio, The Chameleons, Ween, etc. I don't want to just name a ton of bands in the ad, but I get that it helps. This is wordy, I know, but I want real responses. "I play guitar, let's jam" will be ignored. I'm in Ballard.
