Paid Internship/Apprenticeship available for Industrial Project Management Apprentice. Tietex International is a manufacturing plant headquartered in Spartanburg, SC (near the West Gate Mall) that produces technical non-woven fabrics for mattress, roofing, automotive, and footwear industries. A sister plant of similar size is located in Thailand. About the Program: This is a one year paid internship (with benefits). Candidates are expected to work through a large variety of departments in the plant (ranging from the manufacturing floor, accounting, IT systems, quality and engineering). Apprentices are given 1-3 large projects and expected to lead the projects to completion. Important skills include Problem Solving, Data Analysis, Ability to Self-Teach, Curiosity and be Self-Driven. Candidates also interact with a large variety of people including other apprentices, technical operators, factory and executive management, engineers, programmers and accountants. During the Apprenticeship, students are taught to interpret data, manage and lead projects and are given experience relevant to their desired field of choice. Apprentices are NOT "coffee haulers". Students are given real projects with real bottom-lines (which means mistakes can be costly). The learning curve for the program is steep and candidates are expected to master a variety of skills in a short time. Work Hours: Work generally start at 7am. Expect to work around 40-60 hours per week. As the project requires, odd work ours can be expected occasionally. After the Apprenticeship, Apprentices are either: - Promoted to a permanent position at Tietex - kept employed with Tietex until a position at another company becomes available Apprenticeship Benefits: Great Health Insurance On-campus, full access, 24/7 gym.
