Press release from LA County Library: November 10, 2021 November 14th – November 20th With the dangers of hate, racism, and bigotry growing more apparent every day, LA vs Hate United Against Hate Week was created in direct response to the rise in hate crimes and bias incidents that pose a dangerous threat to the safety and civility of our neighborhoods. The United Against Hate movement began in the Bay Area and was created by civic leaders in direct response to the sharp rise in expressions of hate in communities. They wanted to empower residents to take action in their local communities and alter the course of this growing intolerance. Since inception, United Against Hate Week has spread to over 200+ communities including LA County, faith-based groups, LGBTQ and human rights organizations, throughout California, and across the US.
