FOREST LAKE, MN — A 47-year-old man was arrested following a police chase in Forest Lake Sunday that ended in him being shot by officers. Just after 1:30 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting that a man with an active order for protection had arrived at the victim's home, according to authorities. The caller said the man was armed with a gun and was threatening them. On the road, police officers tried to pull over the suspect, but he fled, according to authorities. During the chase, Forest Lake police used a pursuit intervention tactic (PIT) maneuver in the 7000 block of North Shore Trail. "The male presented a threat to officers and shots were fired," police said in a news release. The man was taken to a hospital by helicopter. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is conducting an independent investigation of the police shooting.
